Born 1939 in southeast Missouri in a one-room
log cabin with a dirt floor. Real name: Marcus Sherrill Collier. Grew up in a family of hard working daylaborers
picking cotton, fruit and vegetables for a living. Family followed fruit harvest across U.S. for many years.
Appeared in movie, "Hometown Rascals", at age 12.
Became a paid performing singer at age 18.
Recorded first record, "Life Of The Party" and "His &
Hers", in 1969. Has since had many other releases.
Began feeding hungry children in United States and Columbia
in 1970s.
Nominated for Kentucky Colonel award in 1980 by Kentucky
State Senator Wendell Ford. Award/commission was given by Kentucky State Governor John Y. Brown, Jr. shortly thereafter.
Given the Duke Of Paducah award in 1980 by Paducah, Kentucky
Mayor John K. Penrod.
Music performances in 47 States and Canada.
Has now traveled to 49 U.S. States and 4 foreign
countries.
Served on the Executive Board of the American Federation Of
Musicians Union for 6 years.
Formed Mark Collier Enterprises Talent Agency (MCE) in 1977.
Booked such acts as Roni Stoneman, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, actor Wayne Storm ("The Sting"), Karen Wheeler, Narvel Felts,
Jimmy Payne, Don Wayne, Howard Chadwick, Loose Connection, Leon Barnett, Bill Philipps, Alex & Elmer, and numerous others.
Worked shows with Ray Charles, Glenn Miller Orchestra,
Inkspots, Count Basie, Crystal Gayle, Stella Parton, Billy Walker, Johnny & The Hurricanes, Lou Christi, Charlie Rich,

Formed Bucketful Of Rice food program in early 2004 that continues
to feed hungry children in the Philippines.
Founder/producer of Alabama Jamboree.
Writer of 14 novels. Held book signings at Books-A-Million
and other venues.
Featured speaker at Northwest Shoals Community College, Muscle
Shoals, Alabama.
Asked to speak at Creative Writing Class at University Of North
Alabama.
Current writer of weekly column, "Shades Of Country", for Tennessee
Star Journal newspaper in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
